The all-encompassing barbershop, gallery and store.
Frank’s Chop Shop originated from New York but its Los Angeles outpost has quickly become the go-to spot for a cut and a shave. Owner Mike Malbon has built the imprint to be entrenched within streetwear culture and hip-hop, and its laid back ethos is mutually loved. The Hundreds pay the barbershop a visit and speaks to its barbers about the all-encompassing grooming, shop and art gallery space. Watch the video above and check out our post here where we visited the space when it first opened. If you mention The Hundreds at Frank’s Chop Shop you are entitled to 50 percent off until March 15.

Frank’s Chop Shop, the premiere Lower East Side barbershop, voted best barber shop by New York Magazine consecutive years in a row, is proud to announce the opening of a brand new Los Angeles location that doubles as a fully functional art gallery. The Los Angeles shop is a bold new move for the brand located in the heart of Hollywood on the infamous Melrose strip at 8209 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046. The 2000 sq ft shop will be a permanent fixture on the palm-lined street offering a one-of-a kind experience for the distinguished “Modern Gentleman of Leisure” along with a selection of retail goods, men’s grooming products and visual art and photography by featured artists.
Like its east coast counterparts, patrons of Frank’s Chop Shop LA are in for a one-of a kind, high-end grooming and social experience unlike anywhere else in the world. The ambiance alone, an homage to the classic barbershop, and a feast for the senses, features vintage 1930’s barber chairs, a purple hot rod powerplant motorcycle in the foyer, lacquered black and white checkered floors, along with classically trained barbers who use straight razors, scissors as well as electric clippers. Patrons can also enjoy a cocktail or two in an exclusive lounge area or enjoy a game of pool in the billiard room in between cuts. Portions of the range of services include membership VIP packages, old-fashioned straight-edge razor shaves, along with haircuts and shapeups-perfect for any and every gentleman with a discerning taste.

After several months of brainstorming and collaboration Los Angeles-based streetwear label Cruizer & Co. has teamed up with Frank’s Chop Shop of New York to create a classic, timeless graphic T-Shirt for the summer. Frank’s Chop Shop is the creation of Michael Malbon. It serves as a full-service barbershop and retail space located in New York’s famous Lower East Side. Cruizer & Co. is the brand that Lucky Alvarez from SA Studios released earlier this year. Lucky derived his design perspective by throwing back to the 80’s and 90’s cruising, punk, hip-hop, funk, and skateboarding origins. Cruizer & Co. represents the evolution of Street Wear fashion born out of the subculture of L.A. Staying true to the contemporary street scene without compromise, Cruizer & Co. now extends itself from the streets of L.A to the world.Read More »
